No injuries from quake near Mindanao in Philippines

A moderate-size earthquake rattled the area near Mindanao in the Philippines about 5:10 p.m. yesterday, Hawai'i time.The quake, which was assigned a preliminary magnitude of 5.5, was centered about 55 miles east-northeast of Butuan in the Mindanao area.
There was no report of any damage or injuries from the quake.
