'Memories of Hawaii Five-O' to air this week

Advertiser Staff

"Memories of Hawaii Five-O," a 1996 TV documentary included in the just-released "Five-O" first-season DVD release, will be aired at 9 p.m. Thursday and again at 3:30 p.m. Saturday on KHON-2.

The program, produced and hosted by Emme Tomimbang, is co-hosted by James MacArthur, who played "Danno" on the series, and also includes rare interviews with Rose Freeman, widow of "Five-O" creator Leonard Freeman, and the late Marie Lord, wife of series star Jack Lord.

The revival will include updated footage of the recent "Five-O" DVD launch at the 'Ilikai hotel, which was prominently featured in the opening sequence of the long-running CBS-TV series.

"Memories" previously was selected for and screened at the 1996 Hawai'i International Film Series and won a 1997 Telly Award for outstanding local programming.
