Infant's skull fracture prompts assault investigation

Honolulu police have opened a felony assault investigation after a 5-month old child was admitted to the Kapi'olani Medical Center with a fractured skull.The child was brought to the hospital in serious condition at about 4:40 p.m. Sunday, police said. An examination by doctors revealed the child had a skull fracture on the left side of her head.
The hospital called police and responding officers initiated an assault case.
