NAMES 'N' PLACES: Jasmine Trias' month-long Las Vegas engagement with the Society of Seven has been extended a week — she'll be with the SOS at the Flamingo hotel through March 25. Trias' guest role has been touted on five billboards in the gambling capital — and when Lani Misalucha returns to the lineup on March 28, new billboards will toast her, too. ...

Lucie Arnaz, who sang in the three-night "Return to Romance" concerts at the Hawai'i Theatre, e-mailed me a few days back, after reading Show Biz online; Jimmy Borges tipped her off about the mention. She visited ol' pal Don Ho's show with hubby Laurence Luckinbill at the Ohana Waikiki Beachcomber before returning to the Mainland. "There is nobody like Don Ho," Arnaz said. "He called me up and he asked me to sing with Benny (Chong) of the original Ali'is, and Don even chose the song, 'The Very Thought of You,' which I have always loved but never, ever sung. After all these years, he still knows exactly what song fits my voice, because it was flawless. I'm adding it to my own act! And then I surprised him by doing 'Na Ali'i' for him, but this time, I got to have his fantastic band behind me. It brought back 30-plus years of wonderful memories for both of us. A perfect night. I can't wait to return." ...

TRADE WINDS: Glenn Cannon, University of Hawai'i drama professor and veteran actor and director, is home recuperating after bypass heart surgery at Straub in February. Cannon will resume directing in August, when he mounts Joe Moore's revised play, "Prophecy and Honor," at the Hawai'i Theatre in August. The play, about the Billy Mitchell trial (Cannon appeared in the 1993 Diamond Head Theatre launch), will be a fundraiser for the Pacific Aviation Museum and also commemorate the 60th anniversary of the U.S. Air Force. ...

Cannon's surgery was one reason he wasn't among the localites at the DVD release party for the CBS-TV series "Hawaii Five-O" (he played Attorney General John Manicote). ... He'll be back teaching at Kennedy Theatre in the fall, directing "Man of La Mancha" with a svelte John Mount as Don Quixote/Cervantes. ...

Soprano Shu-Ying Li, who was Hawaii Opera Theatre's "Madama Butterfly," joined pianist Noly Paa at the Halekulani Lewers Lounge to share Puccini arias, a Chinese song and a duet of "All I Ask of You" with Paa. Natalie Cole was spotted there another night. ...

RANDOM NOTES: Augie T, the stand-up comedian who still does his radio shows (6 to 10 a.m. on 102.3 KMMK, Moloka'i and O'ahu; 6 to 10 a.m. on 103.7 KNUQ Maui and the Big Island; and 3 to 7 p.m. on 95.9 SURF on Kaua'i), is prepping for his April launch on OC 16. Next biggie for him will be his "Speak the Dream" concert May 25 at Blaisdell Center to share laughs and raise scholarship funds. Tickets are $15 and $20, available in April. ...

Who was that sipping a Manhattan at Ruth's Chris Steak House in Restaurant Row the other night? Brian Snyder, 27, a law school student at Manhattan's Columbia University. His parents, Bob and Andrea Snyder, relocated to Honolulu this year, since dad is president and chief financial officer for Ruth's Chris Hawaii and Desert Island Restaurants' sister franchise, Romano's Macaroni Grill. ...

TRAVEL LOG: Were your Spidey senses acting up? Actor Tobey Maguire was holidaying on Maui with girlfriend Jennifer Meyer and their 4-month-old daughter Ruby (pictured in a recent People issue). Maguire's "Spider-Man" co-star, Kirsten Dunst, has been on the Island, too. Their "Spider-Man 3" is due May 4. ...

Lanai, who does morning drive on Island 98.5, was on Maui recently and encountered Na Leo at the Big Kitchen in Wailuku. Restaurant owner Les Tomita has always wanted Nalani Choy, Lehua Kalima Heine and Angela Morales to sing, so the impromptu vocals were a real treat. Lanai will appear April 4 and 5 at the Improv in Los Angeles. ...
