California firm gets OK to build Navy housing here

Advertiser Staff

California-based Stronghold Industries Inc. has received licensing approval from Hawai'i and has qualified as a subcontractor to the Navy for government housing projects, the company announced today.

The company, which operates in Hawai'i through a subsidiary, is in various stages of planning or prequalification with two major contractors for housing projects totaling 527 units in the state, company President Barry Jahn told a small group of investors yesterday.

"We have also begun field operations in the private sector, and are very pleased with our initial success in this market. During our first 60 days as a licensed HVAC contractor, we have generated approximately $100,000 in revenue, and have been cashflow positive from day one," Jahn said.
