Teak & Asian Treasures/Bamboo Barn to close

Advertiser Staff

The owners of Teak & Asian Treasures/Bamboo Barn will be closing their doors for good after more than 30 years of doing business on Ward Avenue.

The business opened in January 1974 as the Bamboo Barn at the corner of Ward and Kawaiaha'o Street. The company specialized in rattan furniture, baskets, decorating materials and other woven products.

But owners Bob Short and Garry Corwin said this week that they have decided to close their business and retire. They did not say when the shop would close, but said they are holding a last-chance sale.

"We want to thank all of the customers that have shopped with us all these years," Short said in a press release.
