Ameron's profits rise despite lower sales in Hawai'i

Advertiser Staff

Ameron International Corp., said profit rose in the three months ended Feb. 27 as better performance at its fiberglass-composite pipe group's operations offset lower sales and income in Hawai'i.

The company reported its Hawai'i division sales were lower because of wet weather on O'ahu and Maui and fewer shipping days compared to the same period a year earlier. Net income for Pasadena, California-based Ameron rose to $8.47 million from $3.61 million a year earlier.
