UH golfers 7th in Thompson tourney; Texas A&M wins

The Hawai'i women's golf team finished seventh in the Donnis Thompson Invitational today at Kane'ohe Klipper Golf Course.

Texas A&M won the team title shooting a three-round 897 after a 295 today. Arizona (899) was second, followed by Brigham Young (917), Rollins (921) and Colorado State (924). UH shot a final round 308 for a 935. Hawai'i-Hilo shot a 339-1,012 to finish last in the 13-team field.

Texas A&M's Danielle McVeigh sank a 15-foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole, No. 17, to defeat Texas-El Paso's Gerina Mendoza. Both finished at 1-over 217. Dale Gammie was UH's top finisher shooting a final round 4-over-par 76 for a 226.
