Police Beat: Stalled car leads to theft arrest

STALLED CAR LEADS TO CAR THEFT ARREST

A 19-year-old man was arrested yesterday after a car he allegedly stole stalled in 'Ewa Beach.

At 4:13 p.m. yesterday, a patrol officer responded to a call of a stalled car in the center lane of Fort Weaver Road near Renton Road.

Upon arriving at the scene, the officer ran a check of the car's license plates and discovered the plates were stolen.

A check of the car's vehicle identification number revealed it was also recently reported stolen.

The man was arrested on suspicion of car theft.

KNIFE THREAT IN KALIHI

A 23-year-old man was arrested yesterday after he allegedly threatened a family member with a knife in a Kalihi apartment.

At 2:55 p.m. yesterday, police were called to the residence after a 34-year-old woman called police.

A fight had broken out between the 23-year-old man and the woman. The two are related.

Responding patrol officers arrested the man on suspicion of terroristic threatening.
