Crash victims died of blunt-force injuries

Advertiser Staff

Multiple blunt force injuries due to a crash caused the deaths of Patrick Davis and his infant son, Kingston Pascual, the medical examiner's office said today.

Police said Davis was traveling at an estimated 80 mph yesterday morning when the car he was driving left Kamehameha Highway in Kahalu'u and hit a utility pole, causing the vehicle to split in two. Davis was ejected from the vehicle and his son remained strapped into a child protective seat.

The medical examiner said tests for other significant conditions that could have contributed to the accident are under way.

The manner of death was accidental, the medical examiner said.
