Koller earns national honor for child-protection efforts

In recognition of her efforts to protect children from abuse and neglect, the federal government will honor state Department of Human Services Director Lillian Koller as Hawai'i's recipient of the 2007 commissioner's award.The federal Administration for Children, Youth and Families will honor Koller during the 16th National Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect to be held April 16 to 21 in Portland, Ore.
Also receiving awards will be representatives from about 40 other states and U.S. territories.
