Kenneth Uemura to join HPU as vice president and CFO

Kenneth Uemura will join Hawaii Pacific University as vice president and chief financial officer effective April 1, HPU announced today.Uemura currently works as chief financial officer, treasurer and corporate secretary of Pomare Ltd., which is better known as the local apparel store, Hilo Hattie.
"I am happy to welcome this established business and community leader to our university," said HPU President Chatt Wright. "Kenneth Uemura offers many years of leadership experience in some of Hawaii's most outstanding companies and I feel confident he will be able to help lead our institution as we continue to grow," Wright said.
Before joining Pomare, Uemura served as senior vice president and controller for C Brewer & Co., and was chief executive officer for Jas. W. Glover Holding Co.
