Kalihi man guilty of violating TRO

A 32-year-old Kalihi man pleaded guilty yesterday to 32 counts of violating a temporary restraining order against him issued March 13.

Gabriel Keo III was sentenced to two days in jail and two days probation. The counts stem from phone calls he placed to a woman who was granted the temporary restraining order.



BODY RECOVERED IN KE'EHI LAGOON

Firefighters assisted police yesterday in recovering the body of a man from the ocean off one of the islands in Ke'ehi Lagoon.

Police received a report of a body near Mokuoeo island at 1:35 p.m. Honolulu Emergency Services personnel made the death pronouncement at 2:58 p.m. when the body was brought to shore, said spokesman Bryan Cheplic.

Tentative identification has been made of the 54-year-old man, and there is no sign of foul play, police said. It is believed the man was being treated for an illness and had been discharged from the hospital a few days ago.

Police have classified the case as an unattended death.



WAI'ANAE MAN, 29, FACES SEX CHARGES

Prosecutors yesterday charged a 29-year-old Wai'anae man for multiple sex offenses that involved force against a juvenile.

Michael A. Santiago is accused of two counts of first-degree sex assault and three counts of third-degree sex assault.

He is being held in lieu of $150,000 bail.



CREWS DIGGING UP ALA WAI ROAD AREA

Board of Water Supply crews were checking on a possible main break late last on Ala Wai Boulevard between Lili'uokalani and Kaiulani avenues that could cause a major disruption of water service to area residents.

A crew was digging up a section of roadway at 10 p.m. to determine if a main break occurred.
