A pedestrian who was hit this morning near North Nimitz Highway did not require medical treatment but the driver was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in stable condition complaining of pelvic pain.

The pedestrian was hit shortly before 9 a.m. at Kanakanui Street at Mokauea Street in Kalihi Kai, near North Nimitz Highway, said Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the Honolulu Emergency Services Department.

The pedestrian declined treatment and paramedics were cleared from the scene at 9:30 a.m., Cheplic said. But they were called back eight minutes later when the 26-year-old, female driver began complaining of pelvic pain, Cheplic said.
