Police Beat: Man faces charges in alleged rape of girl

A 29-year-old man was arrested and charged in the alleged rape of a juvenile girl.

On Tuesday the girl told police she was raped. An examination at the Kapi'olani Medical Center confirmed the girl's claims and she told police who raped her.

Michael A. Santiago was arrested Wednesday and charged yesterday with two counts of first-degree sexual assault, three counts of third-degree sexual assault and one count of fourth-degree sex assault.

He is being held in lieu of $150,000 bail.

PAIR ARRESTED AFTER DRUGS, DRIVER'S LICENSES FOUND IN CAR

Two men were arrested this morning after they were caught with a stolen car, drugs and other people's driver's licenses.

At 4:15 a.m. a patrol officer who stopped the men, ages 31 and 37, ran a check of the car and found it had been reported stolen.

After arresting the men, a search of the car revealed crystal methamphetamine, a weapon and driver's licenses for three different people who were not in the car.

The men were arrested on suspicion of car theft, breaking into a car, promotion of a dangerous drug, possession of a deadly weapon and theft of personal information.
