U.S. Attorney Ed Kubo today unveiled the new law-enforcement initiative dubbed Project Safe Childhood-Hawai'i that aims to combat child pornography and sex crimes against children.

The initiative is part of a nationwide Justice Department public service campaign to educate youth about the potential dangers of posting and sharing personal information on popular networking sites such as MySpace and Facebook.

As part of the initiative, Kubo announced federal charges against 10 individuals for possession of child pornography in Hawai'i.
