NORTH KONA
Tsunami signs being installed

Advertiser Staff

The installation of tsunami evacuation signs on streets in the North Kona District is expected to wrap up as early as today.

The county Public Works Department and Civil Defense Agency began installing the signs this week on streets from Kailua Village to Keauhou.

They will designate routes for residents to follow during tsunami events.

The installation work by GP Roadway Solutions Co. will take approximately five days, county officials said.

Motorists are being advised to be alert for work crews and to expect possible traffic delays.

For more information, call the Civil Defense Agency at 935-0031.
