Waimea War Memorial pool to close for renovations

WAIMEA, Kaua'i – County officials have announced that the Waimea War Memorial Swimming Pool will be closed for several months, beginning April 1.
Initially, minor maintenance work will be done on the facility, and a full-scale renovation is scheduled to begin in May.
The renovation work will include replacement of the chlorination, filtration, gutter and plumbing systems; replacement of the concrete coping around the entire pool deck and the mechanical and chlorination room doors; and re-tiling of the pool's interior.
New lane cup anchors, starting blocks, stainless steel ladders, an ADA access lift for the pool, and five rows of aluminum bleachers with ADA access are also part of the renovation plans.
