Public meetings to help set scope of transit study

Public meetings concerning the environmental impact statement to be prepared for Honolulu's planned fixed-guideway mass transit system will be held at the following times and locations:

6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday

Kapolei Hale - 1000 Uluohia Street, Kapolei

5 to 8 p.m. Thursday

McKinley High School Cafeteria - 1039 South King Street

The public is invited to comment on:

o The purpose of the project and needs it will address.

o The alternatives, including the technologies to be evaluated.

o Alignments (routes) and termination points to be considered.

o The environmental, social and economic impacts of the project to be analyzed.

People who do not attend the meetings may send written comments to:

Comments also may be submitted to www.honolulutransit.org.

All comments must be received by April 13.
