Lots of sun, a little rain expected for next few days

A high pressure ridge north of the state will cause the trade winds to step up a notch before the ridge moves off to the east tomorrow, according to the National Weather Service.

Low clouds and showers carried by the trades will arrive mainly over windward and mauka areas, forecasters said.

The high pressure system will be replace by an area of low pressure during the work week, with land and sea breezes.

Here's how the next few days are shaping up:

Today, mostly sunny with isolated showers. Breezy. Highs 77 to 82. East winds 10 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tonight, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Breezy. Lows 64 to 70. Northeast winds 10 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tomorrow, mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 78 to 83. East winds 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tomorrow night, partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 63 to 70. North winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tuesday, mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 77 to 82. Northwest winds around 10 mph, shifting to the south in the afternoon. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tuesday night, mostly clear. Lows 62 to 69. Light winds.
