Services set for father, son killed in Kahalu'u crash

Services are set for a Waikane man and his infant son, both of whom died Wednesday morning when the speeding car they were in left Kamehameha Highway in Kahalu'u and crashed into a utility pole, slicing the vehicle in half.

Police had estimated that the vehicle, driven by Patrick Kainoa Robert Epstein Davis, 22, was going about 80 mph at the time of the crash, ejecting him from the 1995 Acura. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Davis' 9-month-old son, Kingston Kamokukuha'aheoipomaikai'iaenakane'elus Davis, who was strapped into a child safety seat, also died at the crash site.

Patrick Davis is survived by his mother, Renee Motonaga; father, Alan Motonaga; companion, Hannah Pascual; brothers Ryan and Branden; maternal grandparents Everette and Julia Davis, Odeleen Davis.

Kingston Davis is survived by his mother, Hannah Pascual, maternal grandparents, Alfred and Henrietta Nihipali, paternal grandmother Renee Motonaga; paternal grandfather, Alan Motonaga.

Services for Patrick and Kingston will be held at the same time, with visitation from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, in Waikane. Service is at noon, and cremation will follow.
