State, city offices closed for Kuhio Day

City and state offices will be closed today in celebration of Jonah Kuhio Kalaniana'ole Day, a state holiday. Today marks the prince's 136th birthday.

Federal offices, however, will be open.

Other openings/closures:

PEOPLE'S OPEN MARKETS: Closed.

GOLF COURSES: Open.

HONOLULU ZOO: Open.

PARK RECREATION CENTERS: Open.

CITY BOTANICAL GARDENS: Open.

RUBBISH: Regular refuse collections; landfills/convenience centers open.

MAIL: Post offices open; regular delivery and collection.

TheBUS: Holiday schedule.

HANDIVAN: Regular schedule.

PARKING: On-street parking free (except for metered spaces on Kalakaua Avenue next to Kapi'olani Park); holiday parking in tow-away zones as permitted; municipal lot meters must be fed.
