Hiroshi Fukui holds food-and-wine workshop Wednesday

Chef Hiroshi Fukui will hold his first Food & Wine Workshop 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hiroshi Eurasion Tapas at Restaurant Row.

Fukui's new concept will focus on the process, the hows and whys of pairing food with wine.

Participants each try two appetizers, served one at a time, which will be accompanied by two-ounce pours of three different wines. "You'll see what works, what doesn't and why," says master sommelier Chuck Furuya. "Totally interactive!"

Like the monthly Communal Table event at Vino next door, the workshop will be limited to one 12-seat table. Price: $39 per person (not including tax & tip).
