Boy in critical condition after near drowning

A boy who appeared to be about 7 years old was rushed to Kapi'olani Medical Center in critical condition shortly after1 p.m. today after nearly drowning in a Wakiki hotel swimming pool.
Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city Emergency Services Department, said paramedics were called to the pool on the third floor of the Waikiki Marriott Beach Resort about 1:03 p.m.
