Water service, traffic flow restored in Waiahole area

Advertiser Staff

Honolulu Board of Water Supply crews have finished repairing a damaged 12-inch concrete water main in the Waiahole area.

Lanes on Kamehameha Highway in the Waiahole area that have been closed for several hours today are expected to open within one hour.

The water main, which was damaged at about 1 p.m., cut off water service to residents from Waiahole Valley Road to Kualoa.

Crews worked on Kamehameha Highway about a half-mile north of Waiahole Valley Road.

The water company provided an alternate water source for customers. Spigots were set up on hydrants across from Coral Kingdom and at Johnson Road, and a roving water wagon provided water to some customers.
