Jury convicts man, 34, in ice distribution case

Advertiser Staff

Lawrence Sheldon will be sentenced Aug. 6 by federal Judge Michael Seabright after a jury today found him guilty of conspiring to distribute methamphetamine.

Sheldon, 34, was arrested with Dannylee Ferreira and Michael Samson Jr. on Dec. 5 in an undercover High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area task force sting operation after a federal agent sold them a half-pound of 100 percent methamphetamine for $17,500 in the parking lot of Foodland on South Beretania Street.

As a joint task force moved in for the arrest, Sheldon reversed a car he was driving into two parked vehicles and an unmarked police car occupied by two officers, causing minor injuries. Sheldon was captured after a foot chase.
