Tuesday's high school baseball: Mid-Pacific wins

By Kyle Sakamoto
Advertiser Staff Writer

Mid-Pacific rallied for three runs in the top of the seventh inning to beat Kamehameha, 7-6, in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu baseball game Tuesday night at Central O'ahu Regional Park.

The Owls (5-1) scored the first run on an infield single Russell Doi, and Todd Nagamine scored the tying run as the throw from the shortstop got past the first baseman. The go-ahead run scored when Aaron Fujiki bunted the ball to the third baseman, who short-hopped the ball and fired low and wide of first base, scoring Doi from third.

The Warriors (2-3) had runners at the corners in the bottom of the inning, but Michael Nagamine struck out Vance Nobriga swinging to end it.

DAMIEN 4, SAINT LOUIS 1

Darby Ventura went 2-for-2 with two RBIs, and Duncan Ebert fired a four-hitter as the Monarchs beat the Crusaders in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu game at Ala Wai Field. Kyle Gonzaga and Cole Shidaki had two hits apiece for Saint Louis.
