Pipeline work on Nimitz Highway

Lanes will be closed on Nimitz Highway in both directions near Kukahi Street between 8:30 p.m. and 3 a.m. through Friday.

This project will identify inactive petroleum pipelines along Nimitz Highway between Nu'uanu Stream and Kapalama Canal, and drain any oil that may still be in them.

Elsewhere around O'ahu:

Lanes to be closed along H-3

Single lanes will be closed on the H-3 Freeway in both directions between the Halekou Interchange and Marine Corps Base Hawai'i through Friday for pavement resurfacing at the following times:

  • Out-bound: between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.

  • In-bound: between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

  • In-bound on-ramp from Kamehameha Highway (from the Kailua-bound lanes) will be closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday and Friday.

  • In-bound off-ramps to Kamehameha Highway will be closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday and Friday.

    Farrington project continues in Nanakuli

    West-bound lanes will be closed on Farrington Highway between Hakimo Road and Ka'ukama Road through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for drainage maintenance work.

    Farrington project also continues in Waipahu

    Lanes will be closed in both directions on Farrington Highway, from Old Fort Weaver Road to Kamehameha Highway, through Friday for pavement-marking work at these times and locations:

  • East-bound direction: 8:30 a.m. through 3 p.m.

  • Right lanes near the Leo'ole Street/Leoku Street intersection, for construction of a bus pullout.

  • Lanes from Old Fort Weaver Road to the Fort Weaver Road overpass, for the installation of survey monuments.

  • West-bound direction: 7:30 a.m. through 3 p.m.

  • Right lanes between Paiwa Street and Mokuola Street for the installation of a chain link fence.

    Nimitz tree trimming to close lanes

    Left lanes will be closed on Nimitz Highway under the H-1 Freeway airport viaduct for tree-trimming and roadside-maintenance work at the following locations: 

  • Left west-bound lane from Ohohia Street to Camp Catlin Road — from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

  • Left west-bound lane from Pai'ea Street to Rodgers Boulevard — from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Left turns from Nimitz Highway on to Rodgers Boulevard will be permitted.

    H-1 lanes to close for drainage work

    Median and left lanes will be closed on the H-1 Freeway between 9:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. for drainage inspections and cleaning at the following locations and times:

  • Tuesday: Ke'eaumoku viaduct in the east-bound direction.

  • Wednesday: Ke'eaumoku viaduct in the west-bound direction.

    Kamehameha lanes to be closed near Pearl Harbor

    The right lane will be closed on Kamehameha Highway (out-bound) between Radford Drive and Halawa Drive from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday for bikeway and sidewalk construction.

    Pu'uloa project ongoing

    Lanes will be closed on Pu'uloa Road between Kamehameha Highway and Salt Lake Boulevard from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily through Friday, for traffic-signal and utility work, at the following locations:

  • Single lane, southbound, near Kilihau Street for the installation of highway lighting ducts.

  • Single lane and possible shoulder lane closures at the Pu'uloa Road/Salt Lake Boulevard Intersection for traffic signal work.

  • Shoulder lanes in both directions will be closed.

    Nimitz-Ala Moana resurfacing

    Lanes will be closed in both directions on Nimitz Highway from Fort Street to Punchbowl from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly through Friday morning, for pavement saw-cutting and trenching for the installation of street lighting and traffic signal conduits.

    Light pole work to slow traffic on Kamehameha Highway

    The right lane will be closed on Kamehameha Highway from Salt Lake Boulevard to the Moanalua Freeway on-ramps from 'Aiea Access Road from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. tomorrow through Friday for the installation of light poles.

    Work continues near Crouching Lion

    Lanes will be closed on Kamehameha Highway between Waiahole Valley Road and Crouching Lion Inn in both directions through Friday from 8:30 a.m. through 3 p.m. for guardrail maintenance. Traffic will be contra-flowed in the remaining open lane.
