Services on Saturday for man, baby killed in crash

Services are set for a Waikane man and his infant son, who died Wednesday morning when their speeding car ran off Kamehameha Highway in Kahalu'u and crashed into a utility pole, slicing the vehicle in half.

Police had estimated that the the 1995 Acura, driven by Patrick Kainoa Robert Epstein Davis, 22, was traveling at about 80 mph at the time of the crash, ejecting him from the car.

He died at the scene. Davis' 9-month-old son, Kingston Kamokukuha'aheoipomaikai'iaenakane'elua Davis, who was strapped into a child safety seat, also died at the crash site.

Davis is survived by his mother, Renee Motonaga; father, Alan Motonaga; companion, Hannah Pascual; brothers, Ryan and Branden; maternal grandparents, Everette and Julia Davis, and Odeleen Davis.

Kingston is survived by his mother, Hannah Pascual; maternal grandparents, Alfred and Henrietta Nihipali; paternal grandmother, Renee Motonaga; paternal grandfather, Alan Motonaga.

Services for the father and son will be held at the same time, with visitation from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, in Waikane. Service is at noon, and cremation will follow.
