KAPALAMA
Kamehameha choir on tour

Advertiser Staff

Last Friday, the Kamehameha Schools Kapalama Children's Chorus flew to New Zealand to share the gift of song and aloha.

About 85 kids in grades 4 to 6 will be performing a range of musical styles, from Hawaiian to Broadway.

"Music speaks a truly universal language ," said chorus director Lynell Bright, "and this trip presents so many wonderful learning opportunities for our keiki."

They will also visit schools in Auckland and Rotorua and sing at the Waitomo Caves.

The Children's Chorus is best known for its 2001 recording of two songs for the Disney animated hit movie "Lilo and Stitch."
