No one injured as fire guts home in Anahola, Kaua'i

A house fire in Anahola, Kaua'i, this morning gutted a home on Hakuaina Street.

Authorities said no one was injured by the 10 a.m. fire, which destroyed all but two exterior walls.

Damage to the 1,200-square foot wooden dwelling and its contents were estimated at $220,000.

Twelve firefighters and rescue specialists from the Kapa'a and Lihu'e stations responded to the report of a fire.

Firefighters said the blaze was under control by 11 am. and extinguished just before noon.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
