Mass transit informational meeting set for this evening

Transit informational meetings will be held:

  • Kapolei Hale, 1000 Uluohia Street, Kapolei

    Tonight, 6 to 9

  • McKinley High School Cafeteria, 1039 South King St.

    Tomorrow, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

  • Salt Lake Elementary School Cafeteria, 1131 Ala Lilikoi St.

    Tuesday, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

    While these are not a formal "scoping" meeting, information about Honolulu's planned fixed guideway mass transit system will be presented and public comments regarding the environmental impact statement (EIS) to be prepared will be accepted.

    The public is invited to comment on:

  • The purpose of the project and needs it will address;

  • The alternatives, including the technologies to be evaluated;

  • Alignments (routes) and termination points to be considered; and

  • The environmental, social, and economic impacts of the project to be analyzed.
