A 46-year-old woman from Kaua'i injured by a falling mast and rigging Sunday during a whale-watching cruise aboard the catamaran Kiele V off the coast of Kahana, Maui, was listed in stable condition today at Maui Memorial Medical Center, according to county spokeswoman Mahina Martin.

The woman suffered a head injury, eye injury, and spinal vertabrae, rib and left collarbone fractures, said Martin.

The Coast Guard investigation into the incident is continuing.
