City adds 3rd public meeting on mass-transit plan

In response to high public interest, the city has added a third public meeting next week on the environmental impact statement to be prepared for Honolulu's planned fixed-guideway mass transit system.

Meetings are scheduled for:

  • 6 to 9 p.m. tonight Kapolei Hale - 1000 Uluohia St., Kapolei

  • 5 to 8 p.m. tomorrow McKinley High School Cafeteria - 1039 S. King St.

  • 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Salt Lake Elementary School Cafeteria - 1131 Ala Lilikoi Street.

    The public is invited to comment on:

  • The purpose of the project and needs it will address.

  • The alternatives, including the technologies to be evaluated.

  • Alignments (routes) and termination points to be considered.

  • The environmental, social and economic impacts of the project to be analyzed.

    People who do not attend the meetings may send written comments to:
