Motorist stopped, robbed of cash

A 27-year-old Waipahu man was arrested last night after he allegedly robbed a 30-year-old man about 8:20 p.m.

The older man told police he was driving through a Waipahu neighborhood when he was stopped by a man who was in the middle of the street.

The man, who reported the incident, told police the assailant demanded money from him and threatened to harm him if he did not comply.

Police said the suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of money, at which point the older man called police.

Officers were sent to the area, found a suspect nearby and arrested him on suspicion of second-degree robbery.

Juvenile reports sexual assault; man arrested

A 40-year-old Kane'ohe man was arrested yesterday as a suspect in a sexual assault complaint filed on behalf of a juvenile whose age and gender were not disclosed.

Police said the juvenile reported being inappropriately touched by the man while sleeping at 4:45 a.m. Saturday.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of two counts of third-degree sexual assault after turning himself in at the main police station.

Police seize items stolen in burglary

A 29-year-old man with no local address was arrested in Kahuku early yesterday morning after officers allegedly found the man in a car containing items that had been stolen in a recent burglary.

The man in the car was arrested on suspicion of second-degree theft for allegedly having stolen property.
