Advertiser Staff

LIHU'E, Kaua'i—The Kaua'i Island Utility Co-op and the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Development office will hold a free workshop for rural small business, farmers and ranchers on how to participate in government-assisted renewable-energy and energy-efficiency projects on Kaua'i.

The session is from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the utility's conference room at 4463 Pahe'e St., Lihu'e.

USDA Rural Development has programs for grants and guaranteed loans that can be used to buy and install solar, bioenergy, geothermal, wind and hydrogen systems.
