UH-Hilo baseball wins, HPU loses

Robbie Mowers' one-out, bases-loaded single in the bottom of the ninth scored Ronel Trias with the winning run as Hawai'i-Hilo beat Air Force, 4-3, Wednesday night in a non-conference college baseball game at Francis Wong Stadium.

Clayton Uyechi (2-2) pitched a complete game with nine strikeouts as UHH improved to 7-23. Air Force dropped to 5-22.

Also, former University of Hawai'i player Tyler Wightman hit a two-run homer and drove in three runs as Sonoma State (25-5) beat Hawai'i Pacific, 14-3, yesterday in a non-conference game at Rohnert Park, Calif.

Colton Silva had three hits, and Tripper Chung and Paul Nishimura added two hits apiece for HPU (17-12).
