Advertiser Staff

The University of Hawai'i women's water polo closes out its home schedule on Saturday with a match against California at Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex.

Hawai'i, ranked No. 8 in the nation, is 10-8 overall and is in fifth place in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation with a 6-3 record. No. 5 California is 8-7 and 4-3.

The Rainbow Wahine and Golden Bears have met twice this season in Mainland tournaments. Cal has won both meetings: 5-2, Feb. 4, at the Stanford Invitational, and 5-4 in overtime, Feb. 24, at the UC Irvine Invitational.

Goalie Meike De Nooy, utility Brittany Dames and 2-meter Kristy Bagnall play their final home matches for the Rainbow Wahine.

UH will finish its regular season on the road with MPSF matches at UC Santa Barbara (April 10) and at Cal State Northridge (April 12). UH plays a doubleheader at Cal Baptist (April 14) against the Lancers and Hartwick.

The MPSF Championship is April 26 to 29 at Arizona State's Plummer Aquatic Complex. The winner of the title gains the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Championship at Long Beach, Calif., in May.
