Students testifying for 'Peace Day' bill

Advertiser Staff

Students at the Hawai'i Federation of Junior Young Buddhist Association will be testifying at 1:15 p.m. today on behalf of the "Peace Day" bill.

Under House Bill 345, Sept. 21 would be known as Peace Day in Hawai'i, a day to promote peace programs, improve international relations and increase educational awareness of peace.

International Peace Day, on Sept. 21, was established in 2001 and is celebrated by more than 200 countries.

The measure has already been passed out of the House of Representatives.
