Metro One signs new contract with Hawaiian Telcom

News Release

PORTLAND, Ore.-- Metro One Telecommunications, Inc. (Nasdaq:INFO), a developer and provider of Enhanced Directory Assistance® ("EDA") and other enhanced telecom services, today announced that it has entered into a multi-year contract to provide Directory Assistance, EDA and other services to customers of Hawaiian Telcom, the incumbent local exchange carrier in Hawaii and a leading telecommunications provider with network investments that support advanced products and services that keep Hawaii connected and competitive in the global economy.

Metro One will provide its live operator directory assistance services from its Hawaii call center to both landline and wireless customers of Hawaiian Telcom. The services available under this agreement include many features beyond those of traditional directory assistance providers such as turn-by-turn driving directions, restaurant information, movie listings, sports scores, categorical searches and reverse directory look-up, information delivery to the phone via Short Message Service ("SMS") and many more, including some features that Hawaiian Telcom's systems currently do not allow it to offer.

"Metro One was able to deliver the overall solution we needed to service our customers with its Hawaii call center, its innovative services, and long history of high quality directory assistance service to carriers like Hawaiian Telcom," said Mike Brown, Hawaiian Telcom's Senior Vice President-Customer Contact Centers and Wholesale Markets. "With representatives who are familiar with Hawaii's culture and geography, and with their best-in-class customer service, solid existing infrastructure and advanced technical abilities, Metro One will provide excellent service to our customers," he added.

"Hawaiian Telcom provides high quality, innovative services to its customers in Hawaii," said Gary E. Henry, president and chief executive officer of Metro One. "We look forward to customizing services for the retail and wholesale customers that Hawaiian Telcom serves throughout Hawaii. We are excited about providing our directory assistance solution as part of their offering."
