Boy arrested in garden-shears threat case

A Salt Lake boy was arrested yesterday afternoon after he allegedly threatened his father with a pair of garden shears.

The father told police his son was angry because the father said he would not buy a new exhaust system for the son's car.

Police went to the home about 5:25 p.m. and arrested the son on suspicion of first-degree terroristic-threatening.

Schofield Barracks man accused of sexual assault arrested

A 43-year-old Schofield Barracks man was arrested yesterday after an 18-year-old woman accused him of sexually assaulting her.

The woman said she met the man through a telephone dating service. She said she went with the man on a date and voluntarily went with him to a hotel room where she drank beverages containing alcohol. The woman told police she fell asleep and awakened to find the man sexually assaulting her about 12:45 a.m. Wednesday.

She said the man later drove her home at which time she filed a complaint with police. Police located the man and arrested him on suspicion of first-degree sexual assault.

Palama man arrested in tie to stolen-vehicle incident

A 59-year-old Palama man was arrested yesterday in connection with a Jan. 30 incident in which a man abandoned a car on the H-1 Freeway Vineyard off-ramp and ran.

A police officer was attempting to pull the car over because it had been reported stolen.

The man who was driving the car was identified from documents that were found inside it, police said.

The suspect was found yesterday and arrested on suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle and driving without a license.

Wahiawa man arrested after juvenile reports sexual assault

A 21-year-old Wahiawa man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of first-degree sex assault after a juvenile, whose age was not disclosed, reported being forced to have sex in the man's van at a Kapolei resort on March 22.

The man turned himself in and was arrested at police headquarters on Beretania Street.
