Hawai'i's Kimberly Kim bogeyed her final two holes today and finished with a 6-over-par 78 in the first round of the LPGA Kraft Nabisco Championship at Rancho Mirage, Calif.

The 15-year-old Kim, who moved to Arizona last year, is tied for 73rd. The top 70 and ties advance to the weekend.

Kim, who started on the back nine, struggled at the tough Dinah Shore Tournament Course at Mission Hills Country Club.

She bogeyed the 12th, 14th, 15th and 16th holes to make the turn at 4 over. After a bogey at No. 1, she got her only birdie of the day at the par-5 second hole.

Shu Hyun Ahn shot a 68 to take a one-stroke lead over Lorena Ochoa. Maria Hjorth, Jee Young Lee, Catriona Matthew and Karrie Webb shot 70s.
