HAWAI'I KAI
Hale Alii condo hearing delayed

Advertiser Staff

The city has canceled the Planning Commission public hearing scheduled for April 4 on Hale Alii, a 297-unit condominium planned on Hawai'i Kai Drive.

The meeting has been canceled for lack of a quorum. A new public hearing has been tentatively scheduled for April 18. The time has not been set, but meetings are held in the city's Human Resources Conference Room, City Hall Annex, 550 S. King St.

The developer, 21st Century Homes Inc., is seeking a zone change to allow for a stair-stepped structure ending with two 90-foot buildings on 3.8 acres.

The present zoning allows for 60-foot-tall buildings.
