LIHU'E, Kaua'i—Police Thursday night captured fugitive Chris Santos, 32, who has been on the run on Kaua'i since he ran down two deputized federal marshals with a car March 6.

Santos was spotted by members of the Hawai'i Fugitive Task Force at a Hanama'ulu home. He was charged with parole violation and other local charges but will also face federal charges of assaulting a federal officer, said Assistant Police Chief Roy Asher.

Police also have in custody two women charged with helping him. They were identified as Roberta Lyons of Wailua Homesteads and Anela Delima of Hanama'ulu Beach. Both will be charged with federal charges of harboring and aiding a federal fugitive, Asher said.

Santos was sitting on a motorcycle when officers spotted him. He tried to start it but was unsuccessful. He was subdued after running through the neighborhood, Asher said.
