HPU professor holding workshops

Playwrights, or those interested in playwrighting, can attend a two-part workshop on Kaua'i tomorrow and April 7.The workshops will be led by Hawai'i Pacific University assistant professor of English and Island playwright Dr. Mark Tjarks. Both workshops run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Island School Main Hall in Lihue and are part of the Kaua'i Shorts Ten Minute Play Festival.
Tjarks wrote the prize-winning Mango Man and Ventriloquist, produced by Women in Theatre (WIT) in 2005.
The workshops are hosted by Women in Theatre. The workshop explores the principles of dramatic conflict, structures and dialogue.

The workshop is free, but space is limited. All participants are requested to provide the following information: Contact information - name, e-mail, phone; Level of experience (from beginner to published); and whether the participant will bring a script or use the workshop to generate a new one.
