HECO resolves 9-minute Windward power outage

About 1,600 Hawaiian Electric Co. customers in Kane'ohe lost power this afternoon for nine minutes, Hawaiian Electric officials said.The problem, which began at 4:50 p.m., turned out to be a switching malfunction that was easily corrected, a HECO spokesperson said.
The area affected was located along Halekou and Luluku roads, the spokesperson said.
