Free keiki ID cards available today at Family Festival

Advertiser Staff

Children can get free identification cards from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at the 2007 Honolulu Family Festival at Magic Island.

Volunteers from Chevron Hawaii will be assisting with Keiki ID, a program by the Honolulu Police Department to provide parents with a record of their children's vital information.

The identification card includes a recent photo of the child, address, phone number, physician information, and the child's left and right thumbprints.

Created in 1996, Keiki ID is a free community service. So far, more than 200,000 cards have been issued statewide.

The Honolulu Family Festival will be open today through Sunday. Money raised from this year's event will go toward improvements at Ala Moana Beach Park.
