Rainbow Wahine blast San Jose State in nightcap, 20-0

No. 21 Hawai'i scored 11 runs in the top of the second inning en route to a 20-0 victory over San Jose State today to split a Western Athletic Conference softball doubleheader at San Jose, Calif.

The Spartans won the first game, 2-1.

Richie-Ann Titcomb went 3 for 4, including a home run and four RBIs for the Rainbow Wahine, who had 24 hits.

Kate Robinson pitched a five-inning complete game, allowing two hits, striking out five and walking none.

Robinson had three hits, including a homer, and four RBIs. Clare Warwick went 4 for 5 and scored two runs. Alana Power also had three hits. Tyleen Tausaga, Brandi Peiler and Kathryn Grimes each had three RBIs.

Hawai'i improved to 34-8 overall and 7-1 in the WAC. San Jose State is 14-18 and 1-4.

The series concludes with a single game tomorrow.
