HIGHLAND GAMES

EVENT STARTS TODAY

The time has come again for serious and not-so-serious Highland athletes to press their kilts, scrub their rolling pins and ... do whatever they do to prepare a caber.

The Hawaiian Scottish Festival and Highland Games return today and tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., at Kapi'olani Park (across from Queen's Surf). Athletic competitions include the kilted mile, housewives' events including a rolling pin toss, and the always-popular caber (think telephone pole) toss.
