The state Health Planning and Development Agency said it won't take away hospital owner Hawaii Pacific Health's certificate of need for Wilcox Health System as had been sought by some Kaua'i residents. The agency sent a letter to Hawaii Pacific Health saying it had examined healthcare issues raised by residents and determined that revoking the license wasn't warranted.
However, the agency said it had "strongly urged" the company initiate health planning activities to improve the healthcare environment on Kaua'i.
